Wellness Policy Resources
A local school wellness policy (also known as Student Nutrition and Physical Activity policy) is a written document that guides a school district’s efforts to establish a school environment that promotes students’ health, well-being, and ability to learn.
All districts participating in the National School Lunch Program and/or School Breakfast Program are required to have adopted a local wellness policy. These model policies are intended to provide a framework for developing a wellness policy at the local level.
