Spencer Rockwell is the Budget Manager for Mesa County, Colorado. Prior to that, he served for 2 years in the administration of Colorado Governor Jared Polis as a Budget and Policy Analyst, where he worked with the Departments of Higher Education and Labor and Employment. Spencer has spent the past 10+ years in public service in Colorado, with experience teaching, leading local public health initiatives, and writing grants totaling nearly $20 million in awards for non-profits and local governments. He also has experience as an independent consultant, having worked with schools and other youth-serving organizations to innovate and strengthen evidence-based programming.
Spencer earned a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Colorado Mesa University and Masters degrees in Public Policy and Economics from the University of Denver. He lives in Grand Junction, Colorado with his wife, Cortney, their baby boy, Solomon, and their 11-year old chihuahua, Indy. Together, they love exploring Colorado’s natural beauty, cooking up new recipes, and traveling.
